ABOUT HOLLY
Meet Your Local Colorado Springs Photographer
Hi, I’m Holly Tedeschi – founder of Holly Shoots Photography, proud mom, former elite gymnast, and passionate Colorado Springs photographer. Thanks for taking a moment to learn more about me and my personal journey behind the lens!
My connection to sports spans nearly four decades. I fell in love with athletics in the second grade, launched my gymnastics career soon after, and ultimately became the USA National Vault Champion in 2000. I graduated from Radford University that same year and moved to Colorado to become the Assistant Women’s Gymnastics Coach at the United States Air Force Academy – a role I was honored to hold for 11 incredible years.
During my time at the Academy, I coached, taught physical education, and helped oversee cadet fitness testing as well. In 2011, I stepped away from a career that I loved to become a full-time mom, another title that changed my life in the very best way possible.

From Gymnastics to Photography:
A New Passion Is Born
Like many photographers, my story started with my kids. I realized how few photos I had from my own childhood and college sports career so I vowed to document my children’s milestones differently. What began as fun sideline snapshots quickly grew into a creative obsession I just couldn’t put down. To me, photography is so much more than a career – it’s my life passion, my joy, and my way of helping others preserve those special life moments they’ll never want to forget.
Whether I’m capturing an intense play on the field, a senior’s proud smile, a newlywed kiss at the altar, or a family’s quiet connection, I bring energy, precision, and deep care to every photo I take. With all my years of athletic training sharpening my instincts, I see movement innately, action coming before it happens, emotion shining through the eyes, and I know how to be in the right place at the right time. Photography lets me put that natural sense to use in a meaningful way.
My husband, Gary, is a sergeant with the Colorado Springs Police Department and an everyday example of what boundless service and integrity looks like. We’ve been happily married for 23 years and have raised two amazing kids: Katie, a recent college graduate and athlete at NC State, and Sam, another recent high school graduate and gymnast, now working hard toward a future at the Air Force Academy. We also share life with our sweet golden retriever, Grizzly, and a newer addition puppy, Henney, who’s a border collie mix. Needless to say, life in the Tedeschi household is fun, busy, filled with love, and never short of laughter. I wouldn’t have my crew any other way!
